PITR PAKSH

This is the time of Pitr paksh and one can do many things to appease ones pitras. Though there is a special poojan method but here pitr gayatri is being shared which one can use in jap during this period with dhyan of pitras. It goes as follows:

DEVTABHAYA PITRIBHYASHCH, MAHAYOGIBHYA EV CHA,
NAMAH SWAHAYAI SWADHAYAI, NITYAMEV NAMONAMAH.

One can do a fixed no of mala jap everyday during this period specially........Om!

The day on which a person dies, Shradh done on that day is called EKODISHT Shradh. No vishvadev poojan is done during this time. Only one PAVITRIK is used during it. Avahan/Agnikaran is not done. Every month on the same day offerings are made for one year after sapindikaran. Vishvadev pooja is not done in it. Four patras are used, three for pitras and fourth one for the prêt. After sapindikaran fathers, pitamaha moves into the LEPBHAGBHOJI pitra and they do not keep the right of getting the offerings from relatives but they are supposed to partake from relationless offerings. Only father, grand father and great grand father have right over the PIND offered. Above three generations do not get the pind offering directly but get part of offerings which are from common pool. These six and the Yajman(person performing the Shradh), these seven levels have active connection with each other. Above these seven generation, pitras are called POORVAJ. They can be anywhere, in Hell, in the species of birds and animals and bhoot-pret.
What ever is on the floor is taken by PISHACH. So pitras in the pishach category get satisfied with it.
What ever water that drops down on earth from the cloth used in bathing, pitras in the tree kingdom get it.
What ever water falls on the ground from our body, that is taken up by pitras who are in dev category.
What ever particles are left on the ground after lifting of the pind are taken by pitras in birds and animal category.
By wrongly generated money if we do a shradh that is taken up by pitras who have become Chandaal.

Pitr Gayatri should be chanted three times each before and after the shradh karm.

It is said in Brahm Purana that
Who desires material things-should offer the pind in AGNI.
Who desires a son-should offer the pind of grand father with mantra jap to ones wife to eat.
Who desires intelligence, praise etc-should offer the pandas to flowing water.
Who desires long life-should offer the pindas to crows.
Who desires to open a school(kumarshala)-should offer the pindas to roosters.

Further it is said that shradh for any person should be done on the same tithi as per the death day during shradh paksh. According to same purana,
Pratipada shradh gives wealth,
2nd tithi shradh gives offsprings.
3rd tithi shradh gives son,
4th tithi shradh kills enemies,
5th tithi shradh gives Luxmi/wealth,
6th tithi shradh is for earning respect of the society,
7th tithi shradhis for control over the ganas,
8th tithi shradh is for good budhi ,
9th tithi shradh is for getting a good wife,
10th tithi  shradh is for all desires,
11th tithi shradh for getting knowledge for understanding of all the Vedas,
12th tithi shradh is for victory,
13th tithi shradh is for long life, offsprings, aishwarya, medha, getting cattle,
14th tithi shradh is for youthfulness, for pitras who dies from armaments,
While AMAVASYA shradh is for all desires and heavens.

If we consume only milk on Pratipada, food without salt on dwitya, only tilann on tritiya, only milk of chatirthi, only fruits on panchami, leafy vegetables on shashthi, bilv fruit on saptami, Pishti on Ashtami, Agnipak on navmi, Grhitahaar on Dashmi and Ekadashi, Payas/Kheer on,dwadashi, Gaumootra on trayodashi, Yavann on chaturdashi.
In 24 hours we have 30 muhurats. At the time of Madhyaan kaal, light of Sun is always enjoyable and hence it is best time for the propitious KUTUB muhurat to begin. 4 muhurats during this time are best for chanting SWADHA for pitras. Eight things are very useful in removal of bad karmas/deeds(paap) and they are also called KUTUP. They are Madhyaan kaal, Nepal kambal, Khadag patra, Silver, Kusha(a kind of grass), Sesame seeds(Til), Cow and son of a daughter.
Pind is offered with one hand while tarpan is done with both the hands. Kusha and Til came fro the body of Lord Vishnu hence they are quite capable of guarding the shradh karm such is the saying of Devtas.

It is said: Gayagyanam Gayashradham, Gaugrihe marnam tatha,
                Vasah Punsam Kurukshetre, Muktiresha Chaturvidha.

It says that Brahmgyan, Gayashradh, Gaushala death, and residence in Kurukshetra all the four are causes of mukti. Whatever good deeds are generated by doing Pind daan of the ancestors in Gaya can not be explained in even 100 crore years. Gaya area is 5 kose and in east, west, north and south an area of 2.5 kose is called mundprishth. Head of Gaya is 1 kose and by performing pind daan here, they get satiated for ever. From Vishnu parvat to Uttarmanas is FALGU teerth which is called head of Gaya. On earth Gaya, in Gaya Gayashir and there also Falgu teerth is the best place.

As per Brahm Puran By doing pitr poojan in nakshatra
