Diksha Tattva - Siddha Bhoomi Gyan Ganj

Diksha Tattva - Siddha Bhoomi Gyan Ganj - Gopinath Kaviraj, translated into Hindi by SN Khandelwal.

Diksha tattva:

A normal human being in the creation is bound by snares of maya and thus is know as Pashu or animal. His or her body is full of impurities. Spiritual practices are meant to loosen these snares, remove all the impurities and set the jeeva free. With impure body it is not possible to perform prayers to god and hence the body has to be cleaned. This process of cleaning of the disciples body is done by the guru in the form of initiation. Guru passes his power in to the disciple, when the disciple attains guru status, then he passes on this power in to his disciples, thus this lineage continues. The lineage of this Guru and disciple chain is known as ‘Sampradaya’. Through initiation, a disciple gets attached to that very lineage. Apart from connecting with the power of Parmeshwar, an opportunity of state of connection with Parmeshwar also arises. Baisc Diksha is given only once, though for further developments subsequently more diskhas also given from time to time. This is known as Kram Diksha. Kram means sequence. The main purpose of Kram diksha is known at the time of last initiation. Power of knowledge dawns only at one time fully. This is known as Poornabhishek. Now the jiva gets free of the snares of maya and becomes Shiv.

In Gyanganj, Dikashas are of four types. As follows:

1. Mantra Diksha : In this, gauging the past three births of the disciple, Guru gives the mantra diksha .

2. Yog Diksha : Though people who are given mantra diksha, they achieve everything through it only, but disciples who are adept in performing are given Yogic initiation. Though at the start, certain Hathayog kriyas are to be performed, for purification Akhand Mahayog Rajyog is necessary.

3. Bijoddhar Diksha: This is the third initiation. This is essential for certain practitioners. Guru seeing the the basic or inherent element inside the disciple, awakens it.

4. Sakshatkaaratmak Diksha: This involves a very strong Shaktipat. This is done on those disciples who with their own effort or due to the grace of the invisible, are getting free of the snares of maya. Ordinary people can not endure the force of this diksha.
