Passage to Mahapath - II/3

Passage to Mahapath-II-(written by Gopinath Kaviraj and Translated in Hindi by SN Khandelwal.)

In the ultimate state what is the form of Jiva, whether established or not. Whether established in Brahman or in some other kind of adept state, to discuss all this here is out of context. In general, though there is One state beyond life and death but still there are many divisions in that. Due to difference of desires, different people attain different states. Kaivalya, Nirvaan, Parinirvan, Mahapari Nirvan, Shant Brahmpad, Shivatva, Complete freedom or Param Ishwar Tattva, Nirvikalp Sthiti, Nitya Leela etc. many different states has been explained in the scriptures. After transcending the bereavements of this creation, depending on ones right and as per individual desire, one attains similar eternal state. Some people are even able to transcend this state too.

Souls which are busy in alleviating the pain and suffering of the world, they are basically full of mercy or compassion and benevolence. They do not desire to alleviate individual pain, attain happiness and prosperity but accepting self pain etc. but keep themselves busy in removing others pain. Same thing happens in the spiritual path too. In earlier times of Budhists, individual pain suffering mitigation was desired. The knowledge by which one starts to understand the pain in world, cause and eradication of it, that alone is the real knowledge. Nirvaan is the ultimate pain eradication. In this state worldly knowledge disappears and no need of same seem to exist. In Heenyan path, only individual pain eradication is explained. Though this path, alleviation of the pain of the world is impossible. Those who achieve Nirvan, their panch skandh(five Dhatus) gets blocked. When they themselves cease to exist, then how will they remove pain of others. Till the desire to remove pain of others does not sit in the heart, uptill then true knowledge and attainment of Nirvan is essential. After removal of impure desires, one attains Arhat state. Then Skandh gets removed. Other name of this alone is Nirvan. This is state of Jivan Mukt and Videh Kaivalya.

In this state one can not try removal of others pain permanently. Those who attain Arhat state, they can guide others on pure path giving them knowledge. Those whose Skandh nivritti has been achieved, their vow to help others gets broken in the middle only. To remove others pain, one must see ones pain lesser as compared to the pain of the other person. In this state the desire to remove others pain then the self starts becoming more and more powerful. Though in this state a little ignorance is present but still one gets freedom from tribulations. In the atma or soul affected by others pain, the entity of difficult knowledge disappears but easy knowledge remains. Due to the presence of this simple knowledge only, work for others benefit is executed. The desire to remove the pain of others is known as a pure desire. Till simple knowledge is there only till then tis pure desire can survive. In this state consciousness enters into Nirvan. Till this knowledge is there, pursuit of great knowledge will keep on going. This consciousness is called Bodhichitt or Bodhsatta. This is called concentrated Chitt/ consciousness converted into a  Bindu. The percentage by which this form of Consciousness rises, in the same percentage lower state is  left behind and one enters higher realm. Thus rising from one to the next realm, one reaches tenth level where Budha knowledge dawns. This is the ultimate ideal of Bodhi sattva life. After attaining this, fear of Nirvaan disappears permanently. Reason for this is that now Nirvan has already descended or dawned. By achieving the tenth state, Budh attains title of Samraat or Chakravarti Samraat. The one and only vow of Budh is 'to help others' meaning relieving the pain of whole of the creation. Budhas who attain mastery over their realms, leaving aside death and Nirvan/ final emancipation, are continuously engaged in this effort or work.

This is an extremely high state. Budh is himself , teacher, sermonizer and Guru. During their reign time they keep doing their work as a seer, but when their time over even then no change occurs in their state of being a witness. Budha who transcend Sankhya are engaged in the work of alleviation of jivas. Even now they keep on removing ignorance of the creation and alleviating their pains. When ths work will end, its extremely difficult to say. Though alleviation of the jeevas is happening but it is happening sequentially. The number which takes birth in this creation, a very very small number achieve nirvana out of them. Hence removal of pain of whole of the creation is not possible. Continuously innumerable souls are taking birth. As the process of grace is going in the same manner process of punishment of jeevas is also continuing.

Vedant has described the pain alleviation and final emancipation of soul from the point of view of animism(all tangible and intangible or gross or subtle objects contain consciousness) in different different ways. But from the point of view of one animism, still final emancipation has not been attained. From this point of behind every thing there is only one essence. Final emancipation of that alone is freedom of all.  Hence some teachers say that actual freedom has not been achieved still. Whatever we have till now understood as final emancipation or freedom is nothing but sayujya of Ishwar or beatitude or oneness with Ishwar.......Om
