By guarding the truth one guards Dharma,
By continuous practice one guards knowledge,
By daily cleaning one guards utensils,
By good conduct one guards the lineage.(1)
A king without knowledge of scriptures is like a man without eyes,
because a blind person can move with the help of a guide but a king without knowledge
will fail in the end.(2).
That gathering isn't a gathering where there isn't an elder,
An old person isn't an elder if he can not explain the dharma,
and that isn't dharma, in which truth doesn't reside,
and that truth is No truth, which is full of wrong intentions (kapat).(3)
As per Yogis 2 cycles of 18 pranayam done consecutively in a place is called Dharna while similarly
done at 10 different places is called Yog. The ten places have been explained as, first Dharna in Nadi, second dharna in heart, third dharna in chest, fourth dharna in stomach, fifth dharna in neck, sixth dharna in mouth, seventh dharna in at the nose tip, eighth dhrana in eyes, ninth dharna in eye brows centre and tenth dharna in brahmrandhra(crown). (4)
As per another scripture,
12 pranayama are equal to one pratyahar,
12 pratyahar are equal to one dharna,
12 dharna are equal to one dhyan, and
12 dhyan are equal to one samadhi.
