Inspiration:-
Up in the Himalaya, Panditji was waiting for the doors of the temple to be closed. Every year the temple doors are closed for the winters and they open only during summers. There is a very interesting story behind it.
It is said that once sage Narada requested the Lord Vishnu that he would like to be his worshiper in his temple. Lord told him that there is no need for that. But since he wanted to do it very much, so lord accepted his ardent wish and informed him that he would divide the year in to two parts. During one have all the poojan will be done by you and other divinities and in the next half it will be done by humans. Since then sage Narda performs the poojan of Badri Vishal for a period of six months during winters when all the doors are locked and all the humans leave that place.
The doors for the winters close around Diwali and open around in April-May. Last time they closed at 3.26pm. Panditji was heavy in heart for leaving Lord Badri Vishal for six months and in his own heart he requested the lord to show him something. When the doors are closed, electricity to the whole town around the sacred temple is also switched off. Hence whole six months of the winters there is no electricity. Only a few sadhus, 15-20 in number stay back and rest of all the populace shift to Joshimath or other places.
When sun set everything was in darkness. Then slowly they saw some kind of light inside the main temple, the hot water tank area also lighted up and the Shiva temple also lighted up though there was no electricity. One could hear slow rumble of drums or some music being played inside the temple. Just by hearing it, one realised that one is listening to the music of gandharwas being played in the poojan of the lord being performed by sage Narda, one felt blessed.
Then he though of offering water on the Shivalingam. Crossing the tapt kund, panditji descended down the steps towards the Alaknanada to fill up his copper pot with water and lo! he saw two divine beings coming up the steps. Their bodies were shining with white effulgence and same colour clothes were covering their bodies. They were carrying one golden pitcher each and they were wearing mukuts on their heads. Another unusual thing about them was their height, which seemed to be above eight feet. In a moment both vanished and panditji was beside himself, thanking the Lord Badri Vishal for fulfilling his desire of a darshan. Were they Jai-Vijaya or Ashwini Kumars? Every one listened to this story in great reverence and got inspired and hope you too also did........Praise to Lord Badri Vishal, Bol Badri Vishal ki Jai.......Om!
