Gyanganj - A Mystic Realm of Siddhas (from Dr. Gopinath Kaviraj's 'Sidh Bhoomi Gyan Ganj', translated in Hindi by S N Khandelwal)
There are many references to Siddhas or adepts in different scriptures and also to the places they roam around in. From the mouth of Ganges to Mount Kailash whole of the area is of Siddhas and is called Siddh Mandal. Similarly from Yamnotri(यमनोत्री) to Nanda Devi(नन्दादेवी) is the area of Siddhas(सिद्ध) & Vidyadhars(विद्याधर) even today. In area beyond Badrinath, Sahsradhar(सहस्रधार), Satopanth(सतोपन्थ) onward people have darshan of Siddhas, Gandharwas(गन्धर्व), Apsaras(अपसरा) and Yakshas(यक्ष). Similarly Shree Shail(श्री शैल), Nandadevi(नन्दादेवी), and Gridhkoot(गृधकोट) in Bihar also is said to area of many Baudhist siddhas. Many have experienced such areas in Vindhyachal also. In fact there are innumerable such places on earth which we may know or not know but many people have written about such places.
Gopinath Kaviraj ji (7th September, 1887 - 12 June, 1976)Gyanganj, a realm of Siddhas, is located in the secret Himalayan valley of 7-8 miles with boundary all around and surrounded by a lake. Its ancient name was Indra Bhawan. On the lake, there is bow shaped bridge, which is operated by a yantra. Everyone as per their qualification level only can see the realm of Gyan ganj. It has many levels which are subtlest of the subtle. As per Yogic point of view, Gyan ganj has three levels.
1st level is the area up to Mahabhav, which is Gurudham.(Abode of Guru). This is the goal of Khand Yogis. If one loses one's physical frame before realizing it then some allied realm is granted. In physical body, work can be accomplished at greater speed than in subtle body.
The 2nd level is beyond Mahabhav and is located above realm of Sun. Mahakhand Yogi after completing their Kriya realize this space. If this state is not achieved in body then one has to continue sadhana to attain it living in Gyan ganj itself.
For 3rd state it is not easy to say anything. One can say, that in this the goal is Vishvaguru, teacher of the world and its area of operation is whole cosmos.
All three above levels are realms of Karma. Kaal remains outside first two states but merges into the third state. In first two states, the effect of time or kaal is experienced, that is why people from Earth can visit here because of the desire of sadhaks of first two realms. When Kaal operates from outside, it is able to effect the jivas but due to attractive power of the third state, it merges and can not operate independently. Then in the third state, Kaal will convert to Kshan and start pushing those yogis towards complete realization.
The 1st work of Kaal or Time is emancipation and death of physical body. Its main dharma is death that is why it prevails in our world. Beyond the realm of Kaal, emancipation and death can not prevail. 2nd work of Kaal is hunger and thirst. In Gyanganj both of these have to be banished. 3rd Dharma of Kaal is Desire or Kaam Vritti. This lust has to be converted to emotion of love. Kaam vritti and Bhog vritti are inter connected. Where one is other is too.
The education of Yog and Super sciences taught in Gyanganj are said to be miraculous. Gyananand Swami established it about 500 years ago. Shyamanand Paramhamsa is head of super science (Vigyan) department. There are many people there in different categories which are as below,
Bramchari/ ब्रह्मचारी (celibate boys)
Brahmcharini/ ब्रह्मचारिणि (Girls)
Vigyan Shikshaarthi/ शिक्षार्थी
Siddh Paramhamsa. (They are less in number and their age is also quite advanced. Other wise there are 2-300 yogis who are above 100 years of age. In the Siddhas, many do not eat at all but others who are not evolved like them, do eat a little.)
When Vishudhanand ji visited Gyan ganj, 1300th birth celebrations of Mahatapa ji was held in Gyan ganj. Mahatapaji lives in Rajrajeshwari Matha(राजराजेशवरी मठ), which is a cave. He lives mostly there but comes to Gyanganj sometimes. His Guruma, Kshepa Ma(क्षेपा मां) is much more older to him but is much younger in physical body. She lives in Manohar Tirth(मनोहर तीर्थ) which is beyond Rajrajeshwari math. She has long black hair which cover her whole body. Mahatapa Baba is very lean in frame but he walks very fast. His Guru bhai, a Vaisnav is Bhavdev Swami, who lives in some secret place in Tibet. There are many Mathas(मठ) in that area and all are under Rajrajeshwari math. Mahatapa Baba generally never engages in talks and is busy in his own self sadhana.
Out of all the disciples of Mahatapa ji, Paramhamsa Bhriguram is the most accomplished one, who is more than 500 years old, he is in-charge of all the Mathas(मठ). He always glides 72 fingers above the Earth surface. His speed is very fast. 15 kalas of Shodash Kalas are established in Gyanganj. By 15 kalas(कला) of Gyanganj, Bhriguram Vishvaguru has been created. Mahatapa Baba is established on 3/4 Kalas and balance 1/4 Kala was responsible for the advent of Vishudhanand. He imparts yogic knowledge, while Vigyan (Super Science) is taught by Paramhamsa Shyamanand. There is a plane in Gyan ganj which has been developed with knowledge of super science, which emits light like Moon at night. Gyanganj is the residence of Swami Abhayanand. He is like Maheshwar. Sometime Neemanand Paramhamsa and Umanand Paramhamsa also come to our Earthly realm.
One Paramhamsa Gyananand also resides in Gyanganj. He is also known as Kutupanand or Kauthomi Baba of Theosophist society. He also is more than 500 years old. Other noted residents are Umanand, Dhavalanand, Parmanand and Ramanand. While in Bhairavis Uma bhairavi Shyama Bhairavi, Tripura Bhairavi, Anand Bhairavi and Gyan Bhairavi are there. All Bhairavi mothers are between 4-500 years in age. These Bhairavis are not what has been explained in about Bhairavis in Kaul marg or Vamachar. These Bharavis are full motherly instinct. Uma Ma, Shyama Ma and Adi Ma are established in a sequence, Adi Ma being the highest. Uma ma is Kumari form while Shyama Ma's area comes between both Uma Ma and Adi Ma. Paramhamsa Vishudhanand ji met all three of them. Their work is to guard the sadhaks and to evaluate their progress. Adi Ma should be known as primordial power while Shyama Ma is Karm(Action) Shakti and Uma Ma is Gyan (Knowledge) Shakti. From Uma sound of Om continuously flows. This sound of Om travelling to all the 14 realms comes to our realm of death too but since there no takers of it, it returns to Gyanganj again.Vishudhanand (14th March, 1853 - 14th July, 1937).
This was revealed by Paramhamsa Vishudhanand. All these mahatamas do not need food. They have great powers, they can pass through solid walls, travel long distances without any effort, space and time can not stop them in anyway. In the siddhas of this realm, a great combination of both knowledge and devotion exists. Some are travelers of path of Knowledge and some are traversing on path of Yog and some excel in both.Above Gyanganj is another realm called Bhargavpuri, which is a place of bhog. This has been created by the power of Parmahamsa Bhriguram ji. Till realm of death is not won over, till Akshand Mahayog is not made a reality, till then for the travelers of this path after leaving their bodies, they will be staying in this realm safely to continue their spiritual practices. Generally, people after death as per their karmas go to higher or lower realms after which the cycle of life and death goes on. A soul is lost in this great cycle of life and death and it becomes very difficult to locate it. For the followers of the path of Akhand Mahayog, this realm of Bhargavpuri has been developed. The sadhaks of this path, after death will come into this realm and will continues their sadhana in subtle body after death to finish their pending sadhana. Heaven etc. are places of enjoyment, after completion of the good deeds one is thrown back into the cycle of life and death. Bhargavpuri is Karm sthan(कर्मस्थान) or place of action. There is no question of falling down from there as it does not come under Brhma(ब्रह्मा) but only the yogis of Gayanganj. There also souls move forward on the path of Akhand Mahayog.
It is also said siddh bhoomi or space of the adepts is located in the focused state of consciousness. It is gyanmaya(ज्ञानमाया). One pointedness is not the ultimate stage of consciousness. With its help consciousness enters into the realm of yog. For final realization, one has to let go of the knowledge too. After annihilating ignorance, knowledge proves its value. After that truth arises in all its effulgence in that state knowledge also attaining the final success disappears. To establish this truth beyond knowledge is the ultimate purpose of yog. This truth itself is our Atma(आत्मा) which is thus realized.
