12.1.38

There are many kinds of initiation (दीक्षा) which are given by Gurus to their disciples like Chakshushi/ चाक्षुषी (through gaze), Shabdi (शाब्दी), through speech enters through ear. During Diksha (दीक्षा), Kala (कला) travels from Guru to disciple. In the first it enters through eyes, while in the second as mentioned above it travels through ear. Thus, there are many different ways. It means that the whole process of diksha (दीक्षा) is nothing but transference of Kala (कला) from Guru to disciple. Out of the above Chakshushi (चाक्षुषी) is considered best because that path (third eye) is considered divine. The physical eyes are lower than this path. After that comes the level of mouth for initiation and right ear becomes most important in it. Left ear is for the world and right is for the naad.

When agitation or perturbation (स्फुरण) of knowledge takes place in a knowledgeable person, then what ever speech issues from his mouth is full of that knowledge. By accepting it one gets knowledge. Once pure kala is attained that never gets impure, that which is impure, alone is driven out. That becomes impure because it has been tasted or consumed. Pure kala (शुद्ध कला) assimilates inside us.

What is desire (इच्छा)? Dearth (आभाव) of water is desire for same. So meaning desire is really dearth of kala. In the base of this lack is the power of lack.  If this power is not there, we will not have any lack in our life. Lack of kala is real lacking. Since kala depletes and hence its lack. This lack is because of  consumption (भोग) of same. Due to consumption, kala becomes impure. Pure kala never gets consumed, since does not get impure, so it cannot be consumed and hence no depletion. Where we experience disappearance (निवृत्ति) of lack of Pure kala, that is called satiation (तृप्ति). This alone is eternal. Thus without pure kala, we cannot comprehend eternal joy.

Lack is always of Kala. Since pure kala is not attained, hence one has to remove the lack from impure kala. But this removal is not eternal or sustaining, it keeps on rising again and again. Pure kala is not found maya or illusion, it is attained from above, then time and again dearth of it is not felt. Hence it is the instruction of the guru to keep doing or performing one's kriya, whatever may happen. In the end, desire will subside, then one's attraction towards impure kala will also cease. This is known as cessation of desire. This satiation is anand, nirvan. Inside nature, both lacking as well as realization exist. Just by effort of forceful sublimation of lack, it cannot be removed. Without making the nature complete, freedom (मुक्ति) cannot be attained. For fulfillment of Nature, one needs Kala (कला). Whatever kind and percentage of dearth of anything exists in the nature, in the same amount it has to be provided. Then joy of meeting between Purush and Prakriti will happen and it will remain forever. Lack of nature cannot be fulfilled by impure kala of purusha........from Svasamvedan, written by Pt.
